Defend and extend public homes
Action for Public Housing is a grassroots organisation of public housing tenants and allies in so-called Sydney.
We are currently occupying 82 Wentworth Park Road, Glebe in support of Carolyn Ienna, who is being evicted so the complex can be demolished. Our next action is a rally for public housing at Sydney Town Hall on 17 June.
We are calling on the Minns NSW Labor government to immediately cease all evictions of public housing tenants and stop all plans to demolish public homes in the state.
More of the same will not fix the housing crisis. All levels of government need to take meaningful action to address the housing crisis.
Protect, maintain and refurbish existing public homes.
Directly invest in new, high quality public housing and ensure over the long-term that public homes are available to all who want them.
Urgently implement a rent freeze and other measures to prevent more people in the private rental market losing their homes.
