The housing crisis is the worst in living memory. It is a humanitarian disaster. 750,000 people live in housing stress and are in desperate need of secure housing. Yet state and federal governments are offering very little to alleviate the crisis. In the last few weeks we've seen the lacklustre Housing Australia Future Fund pass the Senate, a NSW budget with next-to-nothing for public housing, and the Victorian Government's announcement that they plan to demolish 44 public housing towers.
This National Housing Justice Summit is timely.
